Mission:

The Environmental Photography Invitational is an event for the advancement of photography as a unique medium capable of bringing awareness and preservation to our environment through art.

 

Who is Eligible

  • Open to all photographers residing in the United States and Canada including Alaska and Hawaii.

Invitational Rules

  • All photographic processes and formats are eligible.
  • Images made in any location world-wide are eligible.
  • Images must be in keeping with EPI's Mission.

Digital Manipulation Guidelines:
  • Heavily manipulated images will not be accepted. Color and contrast adjustments, sharpening, burning and dodging, etc. will be accepted within reason so long as it does not alter the subject content of the original image.

2007 Categories

Each image must belong in one of the following categories (images will be reassigned to a different category if deemed appropriate):

Depicting the diversity of animal species, their behavior and habitat, including endangered species.




Flora
Flora

Depicting the beauty and diversity of plants throughout the world, including endangered species and ecosystems.




Underwater
Underwater

Depicting the beauty and diversity of marine or freshwater animals or plants.




Cultures
Indigenous Cultures

Depicting the value of indigenous and tribal people in their natural environment.




Man in the Environment

Depicting the diversity of man's existence and interaction within the natural environment.




Environment at Risk

Depicting the diversity of environmental issues and humanity's positive and negative impacts throughout the world.




Puget Sound at Risk
Puget Sound at Risk

Depicting the environmental issues and humanity's impact on Puget Sound.




Student

Images from participants either enrolled full-time in school or under the age of 21 as of February 1st, 2007 that pertain to any of the above categories.
