Mission:

The Environmental Photography Invitational is an event for the advancement of photography as a unique medium capable of bringing awareness and preservation to our environment through art.

2007 Exhibit

The EPI 2007 exhibit will be displayed at the Art Wolfe Photographic Center located at 1944 First Avenue South in Seattle from May 19th to June 30th, 2007. The exhibit is free and open to the general public. Comprising of 100 framed prints juried from the entries, the exhibit is prominently and elegantly displayed. Along with the print exhibit, images are posted in our online 2007 gallery. Select photographs will be published in a special insert in the Fall 2007 issue of PhotoMedia magazine.

Gala Opening

The Gala Opening and Awards Ceremony, held May 18th at the Art Wolfe Photographic Center gallery, was filled to capacity with photographers and friends who spent the evening viewing the 100 prints from the winning photographers while enjoying wine and hors d'oevres.

EPI Executive Director Richard McEnery introduced Tom Geiger, Communications & Outreach Director of the Washington Environmental Council, who opened up the ceremony by discussing the mission of EPI and the power of photography to bring awareness to environmental issues.

Art Wolfe and Richard McEnery presented awards totalling over $15,000 to 27 photographers. Nine Best in Category prizes were awarded, including a Canon Rebel XTi kit presented to Jordann Foland of Weatherford, TX, who won the Student category. In addition, Art Wolfe presented the Art Wolfe Award, designating the Best In Show, to Marc Piscotty. Marc's prizes included a cash award and an Epson 3800 printer. Honorable Mentions and Highly Commended in each category received cash and/or merchandise prizes.
